28th April 2013 Madrid Marathon and half Marathon
This year the Madrid Marathon takes place again and for the first time includes a half Marathon and a parallel 10 kilometre race. It is considered the biggest running circuit in the World. There will be music on twenty stages and at the end of the race a live concert.
The circuit passes the most interesting monuments and sights of Madrid so the run should be an enjoyable event for runners who run for fun and not full on competition. The route includes Paseo del Prado,Santiago bernabéu Football Stadium, Sol followed by The Royal Palace and Casa de Campo.
Last year was a great success and put Madrid on the runners map for a great annual sporting event that brings a bit of cheer and fun into the humdrum of everyday life here in Madrid.
There will be themed water stations placed along the route and cheerleaders to egg you on and a full blown concert to turn the evnt into a wild party that Weekend.
Fastest time for 2012 was, 2:10:58 set by Moses Arusei from Kenya.

The estimated final quit time for the full Marathon is 6 hours and the half marathon 3 hours. Start time is 9 a.m. for all three runs.
